\tEl Ayuntamiento de La Nucía ha sido también galardonado con los Premios Nacionales del Deporte 2012, como entidad local que más ha destacado durante 2012 por sus iniciativas para el fomento del deporte en la promoción y organización de actividades o dotación de instalaciones deportivas. Se trata del premio más importante a nivel deportivo nacional.<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n
\tBernabé Cano<\/strong>, alcalde de La Nucía, recogió el premio de manos de S.A.R. el Príncipe Felipe<\/strong> y ante la presencia de S.M. La Reina<\/strong> i S.A.R. la Infanta Elena.<\/strong><\/div>\n

\tCon este galardón, La Nucía entra en el selecto grupo de ciudades españolas galardonadas doblemente con el Premio Nacional del Deporte y con el galardón de Villa Europea del Deporte, recibido recientemente en el Parlamento Europeo en Bruselas.<\/div>\n
\t <\/div>\n
\tLa Nucía cuenta con una modélica Ciutat Esportiva Camilo Cano<\/strong> que tiene una superficie global de 150.000 metros cuadrados. Además, para descentralizar y acercar el deporte a sus ciudadanos, cuenta con pistas polideportivas y una red de senderos forestales por todo el término municipal que suman un total de 50.000 metros cuadrados.<\/div>\n

\tEl deporte en La Nucía ha servido para que ciudadanos de 63 nacionalidades diferentes que viven en el municipio se integren socialmente logrando un hábito saludable. El modelo de gestión deportiva de La Nucía fomenta la práctica deportiva en todas las edades, desde el deporte base con 55 escuelas deportivas hasta la Tercera Edad. También se ha hecho un gran esfuerzo por fomentar el deporte adaptado, iniciativas que fueron muy valoradas por el jurado. “Cuando comenzamos nuestro proyecto de Promoción y de Ciudad Deportiva hace 12 años nunca imaginamos, ni soñamos que algún día recibiríamos este galardón de Premio Nacional del Deporte. Supone la distinción más alta que puede recibir una entidad local a nivel nacional y un reconocimiento a la labor de fomento y promoción del deporte en La Nucía. Un premio para todos los deportistas, monitores, entrenadores, clubs y escuelas deportivas nucieras que con su esfuerzo y dedicación diaria han hecho posible este premio. Compartir esta gala con la presencia de la familia Real con el Valencia Basket, el presidente del Barça Sandro Rosell, el presidente del Atletico de Madrid Enrique Cerezo o la selección olímpica de Waterpolo, en el palacio del Pardo, ha sido increíble y ha confirmado que La Nucía se ha convertido en un referente deportivo nacional”<\/em>, ha afirmado Bernabé Cano, alcalde de La Nucía.<\/div>\n

\tOtra entidad de la Comunidad Valenciana, el Valencia Basket, también ha recibido su Premio por los valores de la Cultura del Esfuerzo; mientras que la Universidad Jaume I de Castellón ha sido el centro educativo galardonado.<\/div>\n
